Privacy Policy: What's Broken?

Effective date: 8 October 2026

This policy explains how Outkraft Studios ("we", "us") handles information in our mobile game What's Broken? (the "Game"), available on Google Play as com.outkraft.whatsbroken.

The short version

  • The Game has no accounts. We don't ask for your name, email address or any other personal details.
  • Your progress and settings are saved on your device. We don't receive them.
  • The Game shows ads from Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google collects some information from your device, as described below.
  • We don't sell your information.

Information stored on your device

The Game saves your progress (repairs, coins, stars, level, shop purchases made with in-game coins and achievement progress) and your settings (sound, music, vibration and language) in the Game's private storage on your device. We don't receive this information. Uninstalling the Game deletes it.

If Android backup is turned on, Android may include this save in your device's backup to your Google account, so your progress can move to a new phone. Google handles this backup under its own terms; we have no access to it.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The Game is free and shows ads from Google AdMob. Some are short videos you can choose to watch for a reward; others appear occasionally between jobs. To serve, personalise (where allowed), measure and protect ads, Google may collect and process information from your device, including:

  • device identifiers, such as your device's advertising ID and app set ID;
  • approximate location, worked out from your IP address;
  • information about the ads you see and interact with;
  • diagnostic and performance information, such as crash logs.

This information is sent to Google, encrypted in transit. We don't receive it about you as an individual; AdMob gives us only combined reports, such as how many ads were shown. Ads in the Game are limited to content suitable for teens.

Google explains how it uses information from apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Google's privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.

Your choices about ads

  • European Economic Area, UK and Switzerland: before personalised ads are shown, the Game asks for your consent using Google's consent form. You can change your choice at any time from Privacy options in the Game's menu (open the menu during a repair).
  • Everywhere on Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your device's settings under Settings → Google → Ads (the exact wording varies by device).

Google Play Games (achievements)

Where the Game offers achievements, they're provided by Google Play Games. If you use Play Games, Google processes your Play Games profile and achievement progress under Google's privacy policy. You can manage your Play Games profile in the Google Play Games settings.

Children

The Game is intended for players aged 13 and over and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we'll help.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, for example under the GDPR in Europe or POPIA in South Africa, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information about you, or to object to how it's used. Because the Game doesn't send us personal information, we usually hold none to give you or delete. You can delete everything the Game stores on your device by uninstalling it. For information Google collects through ads or Play Games, you can use Google's controls (see above) or contact Google. You can always contact us with questions.

Security

Information the Game exchanges with Google's services is encrypted in transit.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll post the new version on this page and change the effective date above.
